This blog is about the psychology, philosophy and phenomenology of design. Because design (be it on paper, online, products or architecture) is always more than eye-candy.

It was after reading the architectural essays of Juhani Pallasmaa that I realised that architecture is more than technology and creating a nice image. In his essays Pallasmaa talks about how architecture appeals to our senses, not only through sight but also through hearing, touch and even more abstract, through the mind. This idea of a phenomenological approach to design in which the human perception and meaning making is taken into account intrigued me ever since.

Through this blog I want to discover and show design principles and philosophies which incorporate the human equation in design and reveal that there is more to design than meets the eye!
